Situated at over a 1000 metres, La Clusaz is a good base for exploring the Cols around the Aravis Massif. Robert Millar described the ascent of the Col des Aravis as his favourite climb after racing in Europe for a number of years.

Grenoble is just over an hour to the south, with closer links to Geneva, Annecy and Albertville.
